Update No. 413
Good Morning Redeemer Family
Sermon Recordings
This week, Fraser preached from 2 Corinthians 5:17-6:10, continuing the series on Christian joy by exploring the paradox of a believer being “sorrowful, yet always rejoicing.” He reminded us that because we are a new creation still living in a broken world, genuine suffering and true joy are not mutually exclusive. Instead of relying on our fickle feelings or giving way to despair during seasons of hardship, we were encouraged to anchor our hope in Christ's finished work. Even in our deepest sorrow, we can experience enduring joy by clinging to God's Word, taking hold of His grace, and resting in an unchanging Saviour who never leaves us.
If you weren’t able to make it on Sunday or if you’d like to listen to this sermon or any previous sermons, they’re all available here… or you can just listen below.
Sermon slides are now included in the sermon recordings! Check it out!

Wednesday In The Word - Tonight!
Our next Wednesday in the Word is on tonight from 7:15pm at the Rogers (68 Fernleigh Street)! This is open to anyone and everyone (13+), and if you’ve got younger kids that need to come along, they’re welcome to hang out too!
Just a reminder of the questions that we will be asking/answering, so that you can come prepared!
What did you like about this story? Why?
What questions might someone have about it?
What do we learn about people?
What do we learn about God (or Jesus)?
After hearing this, what are you going to do this week?
Our discussions will be based around Luke:2:8-21, but you’ll of course be free to also engage with the rest of Luke chapter two… if you go outside of Luke chapter two, the facilitator may be forced to intervene.
Context Reading: Luke 2
Focus Passage: Luke 2:8-21
Haven’t done the reading? Haven’t thought about the questions? No worries! We will read the focus passage together tonight, and there’s no pressure to answer questions if you’re not feeling up to it! Come as you are!
Monthly Men’s Breakfast
Our next monthly men’s breakfast is coming up on Saturday, the 7th of March, from 8am at Mike’s place (87 Veale Road). All of the men of the church are welcome! You can also bring a friend, but he too must be a biological man (is there any other kind? I think not).
Supporting Carli in Women’s Ministry
As we shared recently, we are thrilled that Carli Rogers is officially taking on the Women's Ministry leader role alongside her current deacon responsibilities!
To make this 8-hour-a-week role financially sustainable for Redeemer in the long run, we are stepping out in faith and asking the church family to consider targeted giving.
Our Goal: 10 partners at $24/week.
Current Progress: We already have 4 people committed! (See the progress graphic above!)
Remember, $24 a week is simply a guide to help us track our progress. You definitely don't have to give that exact amount. Whether it is more or less, every bit helps us support Carli in this vital discipleship work, and hopefully even expand her hours as the church grows!
How to Partner With Us: If you would like to have "skin in the game" and financially partner with and support this ministry, you can use the details below:
Bank: TSB
Account Name: Redeemer Church
Account Number: 15-3953-0698528-000
Reference: As with your regular giving, please include your Name (for your end-of-year tax receipt) but ALSO the letters "WM" (so we know to apply it to this specific goal!).
Thank you for praying about how you can be a part of this!
Tea & Testimony
Tea & Testimony is back for 2026!
Our first gathering will be on Saturday, March 14th, from 7pm. We are still currently on the look out for someone willing to host, so if you’ve got a suitable house that you’d like to offer, please get in touch with Carli.
We are so excited to gather again! It will have been a few months, and we have missed these special evenings. Whether you are a regular or have joined the church recently, we would love for you to come along.
What to Expect
Simply put, this is a time for the women of the church to pause, catch up, and enjoy genuine fellowship over a hot cup of tea (and, hopefully, some delicious cake and biscuits!). We’ll also hear a testimony shared by one of the women in our community.
What is a Testimony?
For those who might be new to this, a testimony is simply a personal account of God’s goodness. While it often tells the story of how someone came to faith, it can also be about moments of hardship, growth, or change where God’s presence and power were clearly felt.
These aren't just stories about us; they are stories that point to God’s faithfulness and grace. It is a wonderful way to encourage one another and give glory to Him. We hope to see you there!
Redeemer Easter Series
On Sunday, March 22nd, we are so excited to begin our Easter lead-up series. Continuing with our wilderness theme, we’re calling this three-part series Jesus the Redeemer: The Wilderness to the Cross, which will culminate on Easter Sunday.
Over the three weeks, we will be looking at:
Jesus - Out of the Wilderness: Announcing His mission
Jesus - Into the Wilderness: Preparing for His mission
Jesus - Out of the Wilderness: Accomplishing His mission
Easter is always such a great time of year to invite friends and family along to church to hear the Gospel message. I mean, anytime of year is good, but people are often much more open to visiting during Easter! We’d love to encourage you to be bold in sharing the Gospel and inviting the people you love (that should be everyone, right?) to join us.
What Are Our Kids Learning?
On Sunday, the children learned about Noah and the great flood. We talked about how the world God originally created as "very good" had become completely filled with sin and wickedness. While God had to judge this evil with a global flood, He also showed amazing grace. Because Noah listened to and obeyed God, the Lord provided a way to save him, his family, and the animals by having Noah build a massive ark.
We connected this historical rescue mission straight to the Gospel. Just as God took sin seriously in Noah’s day, He still takes it seriously today. But just as the ark was the safe place for Noah, Jesus is our safe place! When we come to Jesus, He rescues us from the punishment our sin deserves and gives us a beautiful new beginning.
Their memory verse is:
“Rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights.” - Genesis 7:12
Reflection For The Week
“When the devil throws our sins up to us and declares we deserve death and hell, we ought to speak thus: ‘I admit that I deserve death and hell. What of it? Does this mean that I shall be sentenced to eternal damnation? By no means. For I know One who suffered and made a satisfaction in my behalf. His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Where he is, there I shall be also.”
- Martin Luther
