Update No. 412

Good Afternoon Redeemer Family

Sermon Recordings

This week, Fraser preached the first sermon in a two-part series on Christian joy, looking at the Source of Joy. He reminded us that true, lasting joy is found not in circumstances but in Christ Himself. From John 15 and Luke 10, we were encouraged that joy flows from abiding in Him, understanding the gospel rightly, and fixing our hearts on what He has done, is doing, and will do. Even in sorrow or struggle, believers can rejoice because our joy rests in an unchanging Saviour.

If you weren’t able to make it on Sunday or if you’d like to listen to this sermon or any previous sermons, they’re all available here.

Tea & Testimony

Tea & Testimony is back for 2026!
Our first gathering will be on Saturday, March 14th, from 7pm. We are currently on the look out for someone willing to host, so if you’ve got a suitable house that you’d like to offer, please get in touch with Carli.

We are so excited to gather again! It will have been a few months, and we have missed these special evenings. Whether you are a regular or have joined the church recently, we would love for you to come along.

What to Expect
Simply put, this is a time for the women of the church to pause, catch up, and enjoy genuine fellowship over a hot cup of tea (and, hopefully, some delicious cake and biscuits!). We’ll also hear a testimony shared by one of the women in our community.

What is a Testimony?
For those who might be new to this, a testimony is simply a personal account of God’s goodness. While it often tells the story of how someone came to faith, it can also be about moments of hardship, growth, or change where God’s presence and power were clearly felt.

These aren't just stories about us; they are stories that point to God’s faithfulness and grace. It is a wonderful way to encourage one another and give glory to Him. We hope to see you there!

What Are Our Kids Learning?

On Sunday, the children saw just how serious sin really is. After Adam and Eve were sent out of Eden, the world quickly filled with sin and death, seen clearly in the story of Cain and Abel. Cain’s refusal to trust God led to anger, jealousy, and ultimately terrible violence, showing how sin, when left unchecked, spreads and harms both us and others.

Yet even in this sad story, there was hope. The children were reminded of God’s promise to send the “Snake Crusher” - the Rescuer who would defeat sin and Satan and bring His people back to God. That promise points us to Jesus, who makes a way for us to walk with God again.

Their memory verse was:

“Just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.”
- Romans 5:12

Reflection For The Week

“The key to the Christian’s joy is its source, which is the Lord. If Christ is in me and I am in Him, that relationship is not a sometimes experience. The Christian is always in the Lord and the Lord is always in the Christian, and that is always a reason for joy. Even if the Christian cannot rejoice in his circumstances, if he finds himself passing through pain, sorrow, or grief, he still can rejoice in Christ. We rejoice in the Lord, and since He never leaves us or forsakes us, we can rejoice always.”

- R. C. Sproul
