Good Morning Redeemer Family
Sermon Recordings
No sermon recordings over the last couple of weeks, but if you’d like to listen to any previous sermons, they’re all available here.
ReMemer Church
Redeemer Men’s Breakfast
Our first (mostly) monthly men’s breakfast is coming up next month, Saturday, February 14th. Regular time and place!
No Sunday School
Just a reminder that there will be no Sunday School during the School holidays. We will have activity sheets and sermon notes available as per usual.
Serving Rosters
If you are on a roster (or if I think that you might like to be on one), then you should have received an email about your availability. The emails were for the Notices Roster, Scripture Reading Roster and Intercessory Prayer Roster. If you think that you should have received an email, but haven’t, check your inbox and spam folder. If you still can’t find an email and you’d like to join a roster, reply to this email, and I’ll be in touch.
Church Directory Update
Some of you may not be aware that we have a Church Directory (previously known as the Family List). I am currently in the process of updating this list. If you receive this email and are currently a regular attendee at Redeemer Church, then you are listed in the Church Directory. The Directory will soon be made available online to everybody in it.
As part of the update, I want to add photos for everyone. We are only a small church, but it can still be helpful to have faces to associate with names. Each individual person has their own entry, so each person will have a photo. You have two options: you can send me a photo of yourself, or we can have someone take a new photo sometime on a Sunday.
As well as the addition of photos, if you have a new phone number (or if you’ve never given us your phone number) or if you’d like to update your email or address, please send those details through to me as well.
This Directory is only for our church family, and it will be password-protected, so your details are safe.
Reflection For The Week
“Earthly gatherings after all have something about them that is sad and sorrowful. The happiest parties sometimes contain uncongenial members; the merriest meetings are only for a very short time. Moreover, as years roll on, the hand of death makes painful gaps in the family circle. Even in the midst of Christmas merriment we cannot help remembering those who have passed away.… People do not talk much of such things, but there are few that do not feel them. We need not intrude our inmost thoughts on others, and especially when all around us are bright and happy. But there are not many, I suspect, who reach middle age, who would not admit, if they spoke the truth, that there are sorrowful things inseparably mixed up with a Christmas party. In short, there is no unmixed pleasure about any earthly gathering.
But is there no better gathering yet to come? Is there no bright prospect on our horizon of an assembly which shall far outshine the assemblies of Christmas and New Year—an assembly in which there shall be joy without sorrow, and mirth without tears?”
